Christina Green is a songwriter, composer, performer and multi-instrumentalist working in both the folk/acoustic and contemporary classical music contexts. Spanning styles from folk/rock to cabaret/chanson, her songs convey snapshots of everyday life, stories, observations and experiences with polished lyrics and guitar work, strong images and storytelling, and are complemented in live performances by occasional instrumental pieces. As a composer Christina writes in a range of styles, with recent works for piano combining jazz and classical elements.
“Christina sums up the 21st century lyrically and musically in 2 verses and a chorus. Her ability to make every word count is astonishing ”

News - June-August 2022
April and May brought several very enjoyable performances, including an evening with Hills trio Banbury Cross, for the launch of their EP Time and Tide at Wesley Anne, and the Hills Ukulele Festival in Emerald, a gig that was rescheduled from 2020 - thanks HUF! In some spare moments I have also continued to make progress with recording, gradually working on songs written since my last CD, as well as some composed pieces. I look forward to appearing with members of the Darebin Songwriters’ Guild later in June, and to a two-set show in August (see Shows). I am also delighted to have a work included in the proceedings at this year’s National Women’s Music Festival in the US (30/6/22-3/7/22) in the form of video screened in physical space, following my involvement in the online composers’ showcase there in 2021.
All my available CDs are now uploaded for purchase (as physical items) in the Store section here. They can also be purchased through Goldenrod (click on the fifth/final music note icon/link at top of website pages - full album and individual track downloads), and Mindless Fun is available on Bandcamp (also linked).
2022 is bringing new challenges following those of 2020 and 2021. I am delighted to be reconnecting with music life, hopeful that it will continue to grow. We may feel overwhelmed, already very tired, concerned about the world. Let's make every effort to find joy, stay well, take care of ourselves and each other at this time.

An in-depth interview in which Christina talks about her songwriting journey has been done by UK-based musician, writer and artist Walki Freedreamer, who has worked with Christina as a musician/collaborator and sound engineer. The interview has been published in Amplified, a journal for music lovers in British Mensa. Walki has made the interview available online at https://lordwalkiwolf.livejournal.com/18819.html.
A new CD release, Melbourne Composers' League - Celebrating Twenty Years, includes a group of four short piano pieces written and performed by Christina from her Suite from Sighting Silence, Sounding Image, a work mostly composed on collaborative residency at the Bundanon Arts Trust, Shoalhaven Region, NSW, with visual artist Dr Flossie Peitsch, in 2012. The CD can be purchased online at http://www.melbournecomposersleague.com/celebrating-twenty-years/. Christina is delighted to have work included on the CD, which was launched at Montsalvat, Eltham, on November 12th 2017.
