The Darebin Songwriters’ Guild presents its second live session for 2021, with up to eight performing songwriters doing three-song sets. I am delighted to be performing as feature artist at the session, presenting Songs in a Time of Coronavirus, a song cycle I wrote during Melbourne’s first lockdown in 2020. The cycle is a group of eight short songs on themes coming out of the Coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic, both personal experiences and stories from the wider world. I will talk a bit about the creation process and concept of the work and also play a couple of other related pieces. The DSG is delighted to return to Bar 303 after the lockdowns.
